Gunners to do a Liverpool?

The comparison between Liverpool's Champions League fairytale win last season and what Arsenal are doing in this season's competition gets stronger and stronger:

Poor league form
A different team in Europe
Accusations of being a one man team
Defying the critics/pundits
Will he stay or go - Gerrard/Henry - depends on 'Champions League Football' next season

If you believe in fate back Arsenal at 12/1 to win the Champions League with Boylesports - http://www.boylesports.com

Champions League Market Moves

Boylesports have cut Arsenal to 12/1 for Champions League glory following their impressive win last night in the Bernabeu. Liverpool are also 12/1 despite facing a 1-0 deficit in the second leg.

Barcelona remain the 4/1 favourites with Juventus at 5/1, Chelsea at 6/1 and Lyon 7/1 (beat PSV 1-0 in Eindhoven last night).

Expect the odds to change around tonight during and after the Chelsea and Barcelona game at the Stamford Bridge mud bath. Talking of which - William Hill are offering odds of 100/1 that the Chelsea-Barcelona Champions League match tonight will be abandoned because of the state of the Stamford Bridge pitch at some stage after the game has kicked off!

Glenn for the Toon?

Wolves boss Glenn Hoddle has been slashed from 25/1 to 3/1 by Ladbrokes in the race to be the next Newcastle manager. There has also been strong support for Sam Allardyce even though he recently told reporters that he's happy at Bolton.

One Scottish punter had other ideas - he walked into a Ladbrokes in Perth and placed £800 on Martin O'Neill to be the next Geordie boss at odds of 5/1.

Ladbrokes spokesman Nick Weinberg, said: "We've laid bets on Hoddle and Allardyce all day. But money still continues to pour in for the rest of the field."

It's certainly an interesting market with 5 names at less than 10/1 and 13 names at 20/1 or less. It would be a big surprise to YTM Hq though if Glenn left a mid-table Wolves for St James' Park.
